It’s time to catch up with our Ten of the Best photo posts. The time has flown by and all of a sudden, here we are nearly half way through 2026. How did that happen?

So what better way to catch up than with ten photos of Mother Nature’s bounty, which takes us from January to June of this year.

Rain in January was welcomed by wild flowers everywhere. The pale blue flowers are borage, which grows abundantly on wasteland.

There were some beautiful clouds at sundown, these spotted in February.

The trees started to show their new growth in the spring. The weather continued showery and the wildflowers repaid the rain with a colourful display.

Geranium season arrived – always a firm favourite and a lovely splash of colour outside village houses.

No patch of wasteland should be without a splash of colour – there are so many different varieties of yellow wildflowers here.

Bright blue skies brought out the best of every leaf and branch.

The rich purple of the iris which bloom outside the parish church in the centre of the village every year.

This village bougainvillea gives prettier shade than any parasol or umbrella.

And, all of a sudden, the prickly pear were in flower and there was a feel of summer in the air.

Days became longer, temperatures became hotter and the sky became even more dramatic as the middle of the year got ever closer.
